This is both an angling and spearfishing tournament. Rod & Reel may
include any legal combination of gear and tackle, including hand-reel/line.
Spearfishing includes only freediving. In order to be eligible, fish must have
been caught by the participant using any legal method approved by Florida
state and Federal regulations. No participant may receive assistance with
any fish. Each fish entered by a participant must have been landed by that
participant.
Wahoo will be the main category however there will be a Mahi Calcutta and
a King Mackerel Calcutta which includes entries from angling and
spearfishing.
1. Must be in the Florida Keys, Key Largo through the Dry Tortugas to
submit fish into derby.
2. Submit picture of shot/caught fish, and fish weight on website
- Picture must include person who shot/caught fish, and fish
3. Video + Coordinates must be submitted in order to verify winner (coordinates will only be verified if winner)
4. Must have a Florida Fishing license
5. No use of power heads
6. Competitor MUST be PRESENT at awards ceremony to accept
winnings
Each participant is responsible for their own safety and liable for their own
actions. Paid Entry into the Tournament signifies compliance with these
general rules & conditions. All FL State Laws and Federal Regulations are
expected to be observed during the tournament. No boat may approach
another boat without permission and must stay more than 200 feet away
from an anchored boat flying a diver’s down or Alpha flag. This Tournament
is for Ocean Conservation Awareness, Respect of these Aquatic Sports,
Camaraderie among participants, and for Fun! If you must cheat to win, you
are cheating yourself of your own Honor and Respect. Each participant
entering this tournament has given implied and expressed consent for
Tournament to use his/her name and/or likeness to promote the efforts of
